Setting Up XTM for Automatic Translation

Setting Up XTM for Automatic Translation

  1. Create a Special Workflow Step

In XTM, create a dedicated workflow step specifically for automatic translation.
You can name this step “CMT Automatic Translation” or choose another appropriate name.

For detailed guidance, refer to the article:
How to Add a DTP Step to the Workflow in XTM Cloud (follow steps 1–7).

  1. Set Up Webhooks (Callbacks)

You will need to configure workflowTransitionCallback to enable integration with the automatic translation service.
Please contact the XTM International Support team using the email template below:

Email Template for XTM Support:

Subject: Request to Set Up workflowTransitionCallback
Dear Support Team,
Please configure the following callback URL for workflowTransitionCallback on our account (Global level):
 https://console.custom.mt/integrations/workflow
(https://yourcompany.console.custom.mt/integrations/workflow for dedicated instance)
The callback should use Basic Authentication (login and password).
Login: Your login for console.custom.mt
Password: Your password for console.custom.mt
Our XTM instance URL is: https://put here your XTM instance URL/

To provide a password for the Custom.MT Console in secure mode, use this link and send the encrypted password to XTM technical support.

  1. Check Results and Activate Automatic Translation

Once you receive confirmation from XTM Support that the Callback setup is complete:

  • Go to the Custom.MT Console
    Navigate to:
    Translation > Connections > XTM

  • Enable the option:
    Use automatic translations

  • Configure the language pair settings as needed.

Quick test:

  • In XTM Cloud, move a test project to the special step you created.

  • If the project is automatically translated – everything is working correctly!

  • If it isn’t – don’t worry.
→ Please contact Custom.MT Support, and we’ll help you with the setup.
